Simon Public Relations Group is an award-winning public relations firm based in Center City Philadelphia. Our agency enjoys expertise in media relations, community relations, consumer marketing, employee communications and promotions. Interns at Simon Public Relations Group gain exposure to a variety of clients and industries, many facets of the public relations business and the workings of a small, dynamic Agency. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Researching the media and updating of Simon PR's proprietary media database
  • Researching and developing media lists for various clients
  • Merchandising the Agency's work to clients
  • Conducting research on a variety of topics and business categories
  • Monitoring and reporting on the news
  • Updating/writing and distributing basic public relations materials (calendar listings, news releases, media alerts, calendar listings, PSAs)
  • Supporting Simon PR's virtual agency with list management and distribution of releases and photos to the media
  • Supporting new business opportunities with research and portfolio management
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
As business needs allow and require, you may also support Simon PR's promotional division: The PRomo Department. This may include list management and other activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
You must:
  • Be majoring in Public Relations, Journalism or English
  • Be a junior or senior in college or a graduate student
  • Have a 3.6 or better grade point average
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in public relations
  • Enjoy writing and thinking creatively
  • Have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Be organized, thorough and accurate in your work
  • Have a professional appearance
WORK REQUIREMENTS
This is a part-time internship for a full semester. Interns must be available 15 - 20 hours a week. A stipend to cover travel expenses to/from the office is available.

Account Executive Position

JOB DESCRIPTION
Award-winning Center City Agency seeks Account staff for exciting consumer accounts. This is a fantastic opportunity to be creative and generate great results. We are looking for high-energy individuals with Agency experience. Must be a strong writer with an interest in account service and media relations. Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, or English required. Candidates should have Agency experience and a strong desire to work in a PR firm. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Project management-Demonstrated ability to plan and implement a project.
  • Writing-News releases, photo captions, media alerts, pitch letters, feature stories, press kits, sales collateral, radio promotions.
  • Media relations-Understands the flow of media relations, follows up in a timely manner, schedules interviews, prepares clients for interviews, maintains media contacts.
  • Research-Interviews and elicits needed information, searches for information on the web, in directories and other printed resources, researches media.
  • Photography-Executes photo scheduling and clearances, selects and orders photos. Takes photos occasionally.
  • Reporting-Maintains system of client reporting, merchandises results.
SALARY RANGE
$28,000 - $35,000 Annually for AE candidates with one + years of agency experience
$25,000 - $27,500 Annually for associate AE candidates with agency internship experience
